THE LUXOR TOMB.

' RE-OPENED BY GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph.— Pres* Assn.—Copyright Received March 7. 11.15 p.m. London, March 6. Reuter’s Luxor correspondent reports that Tutankhamen's tomb was reopened, and two hundred distinguished guests, including Lord Allenby, Egyptian Ministers and foreign diplomats, were admitted as the guests of the Egyptian Government to view the gold-covered coffin.

The guests travelled in special trains. The elaborate ceremonies included the slaying of two bulls as a sacrifice in the centre of Luxor, as- was customary in the days of the Pharaohs. The streets were decorated, and a banquet in the evening was followed by a fete and fireworks. Neither Mr. Carter nor his staff was present.
