SIR FREDERICK CHAPMAN.
CONGRATULATED ON HIS KNIGHTHOOD. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, June 12. General approval of the high honor conferred in Knighthood to Mr. Justice Chapman found expression in the Supreme Court to-day, when members of the Bar publicly tendered their congratulations. Sir Robert Stout and Sir John Salmond were associated with Sir Frederick Chapman on the Bench, and the court was crowded with a most representative gathering of the legal fraternity. Mr. Perry, president of the Wellington Law Society, congratulated Sir Frederick Chapman on the honor conferred on hi m < which the members of the Bar thought he richly deserved. Mr. Skerrett, K.C., Mr. Izard (Wanganui), and the Chief Justice also extended their congratulations. Sir Robert Stout said that Sir Frederick Chapman had not only inherited his father’s ability as a Judge, but also his father’s scholarly qualities and kindly feeling. He had given the benefit of hw learning to the community in many W Sir Frederick, after some interesting reminiscences, thanked the Bar for their congratulations.
