ALLEGED MALPRACTICE.

SEAMAN SECURES DAMAGES. By Telegraph.—Press Association Christchurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to.day, C. Thomas Lyons, mate in a coastal steamer, was awarded £92 damages against Joseph Wright, a chiropractor, in respect to alleged malpractice. 'Plaintiff was advised in 1919 that he was suffering from cancer, but fearing the knife he consulted a chiropractor, who told him to go to a surgeon. Plaintiff then saw defendant, who said he could cure him. The treatment did him no good and plaintiff then consulted a surgeon and was operated on with success.

The defence was a denial that plaintiff had made known the nature of his complaint. Defendant ultimately suspected cancer was the cause of the trouble and advised him to consult a surgeon. He denied he had guaranteed a cure.
