Billio -Rhodes, tlm vivacious lliilo star, is seen in an unufitittllv excfdlent picture, “The Lamb and the Dion,” her latest production at Everybody’s Theatre. Miss Rhoden plny« the part of “Boots,” a waif who has been adopted by the leader of 11 gang of crooks. In an attempted robbery, “Boots” in cap■tured by the society woman whose house . was being burglarised, and imposed on jby her friends as a girl of good famlily. “Boots” is an ingratiating little ! vagabond, who shocks the society dames by her daring and unconventional capj era. Mystery, romance and the, machin- ' ations of high society intrigue are ex- • posed in a play that vibrates with thrilling situations. A fine two-reel comedy, gazette and interest films are also shown.

A BIG METRO PLAY, “THE SAPHEAD.”

One of the outstanding big photodramas of the year is “The Saphead,” featuring Wm. Crane and Buster Keaton, and commencing to-night at the People’s. It is a Metro production, put on as successor to “Alias Jimmy Valentine” and “Shore Acres,” as one of the great dramatic stories with important screen values. It has the advantage of being put on under the personal supervision of Winchell Smith, who, as author a.nd playwright, has been responsible for the success of “Lightnin’,” “The Boomerang,” “The Fortune Hunter” and “Turn to the Right.” “The Saphead” is an intensely dramatic story, lightened by touches of brilliant comedy, and deals with New York society and the Stock Exchange. The bill includes gazette, Ford Wild West Review, and comedy. THE EMPIRE. “ACE OF THE SADDLE.” TO-MORROW AND SATURDAY. Harry Carey has become so closely associated with his well-earned nickname, “The Ace of the Saddle,” that 1 his latest Universal Western was given | that name. Love plays some queer pranks. One of the strangest of its capers was taking away the six-shoo'ter of Cheynne Harry Henderson right at the time he needed it most of anything in the world. How a gunless man de- f feated every attempt on his life and i property until desperation caused him to “bust loose from peace” is shown in “The Ace of the Saddle,” Harry Carey’s latest Universal Western picture, which will begin, a showing at the Empire on Friday next. The bill will include a big two-reel comedy and gazettes.
