Received August 23, 9.5 p.m. New York, August 22. The Australasian tennis team is practising daily at Newport for the final of the Davis Cup match against th? Japanese. The Australians have been warned of the brilliance of the Japanese, and are fitting themselves for a hard fight The Australians are confident, but the Japanese are the favorites in the public estimation. [Though the meeting of Austratesja and Japan provides th? final round, the winner has yet to play the United States (the holders) for the cup.]
