It is unofficially stated that the Fedtntl Basic Wage Commission fixed the basic wage at five guineas weekly. Melbourne, Nov. 17. Mr. Mahon, who was expelled from the Federal House, has announced his intention to contest the Kalgooriie seat, If selected. Sydney, Nov. 17. A party of women from the Soldiers' Relatives' Association invaded the City Council meeting and sang the "National Anthem," as a protest against several Labor Aldermen referring to war trophies as scrap iron. Sydney, Nov. 1". Mr. Fuller, continuing the Budget debate, urged the appointment of a committee of financial experts to advise the Government on the financial position from time, to time.
Mr. Cocks (Nationalist) said that iince 1914 the Victorian debt has increased by nine millions and that of pew South Wales by 36 millions.
