Owing to the resentment of German!l>orn people over the pulling down of the Emperor Joseph's statues in various towns, serious conflicts with Czecho-Slo-yak troops occurred. The Germans entered houses, cutting off the hair of girls • who had been friendly towards the soldiers. The troops in one town waited 'till midnight to pull down the statues.
