JT is hereby notified for public information that it is proposed to make inquiries during the recess with a view to revising the Customs Tariff during the session of 1021. All persons making contracts for the delivery of imported goods either subject to duty or which may become subject to duty, should protect' themselves either (1) by introducing therein a clause governing possible change of duty, or (2) by giving immediate notice where contract's are already in force, or, where there' are running contracts, that, in tlie event of alteration of the duty, the provisions of Section 130 of the Customs Act, 1913 must apply. ' It is proposed to amend this Section to cover alteration not only in the liability of goods to duty or the rate of duty, hut also in the amount of duty.
