An unusual incident occurred in the Auckland Supreme Court on Friday at tlie conclusion o£ a case in which a young man was charged with cattlestealing. When the jury delivered a verdict of not guilty an emphatic "Hear, hear" came from the body of the Court. "Arrest that man," ordered the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, but the police were unable to locate the owner of the offending voice. His Honor remarked that if the offender had been identified he would have been sent to gaol. "Only on one occasion have I had to deal with an offence of this nature," added Sir Robert, "and I sent a man in a good position to gaol for it. I wll not have the Court turned into a theatre."
