EGMONT A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A well-attended meeting of the executive of the Egmoni A. and 1\ Association was held on Saturday, Mr. E. A. Washer presiding. The Taranaki Metropolitan Agricultural Society wrote advising that their show had been definitely fixed for Wednesday and Thursday, -March ft and 10, conditional upon the Egmont Association agreeing to hold a conference with them before fixing show dales for 11)22. —Received.

The following now members were elected: Messrs E. C. Williams, H. L. Spratt, R. C. Hay Mackenzie, John Richards. R. E. C. Dowling. Gyde. Parker and Co., Wm. Blake. P. McLaughlin, 11. K. Out-red, K. Mason. Herbert Craves, M. C. Crighton, and H. Strawbridge. The president said that in view of the increased cost of ingredients for cookery it was a question of whether it would not be advisable to have in addition to the borne industries an exhibition of roots. This would enable lhem to fill up some of the space which \vCli\A otherwise be unoccupied, and would add greatly to the interest of the show.

Members generally favored the idea. A deputation from the South Taranaki Frisian Breeders' Association, crHisisling nf Messrs. 11. E. Johnson, W. ,1. Bradford, and J. Walker, waited upon (he association with a view trt obtaining assistance in making ■the Friesian classes at the show more attractive. Mr, Johnson said the Friesian breeders were prepared to help themselves, and had raised £3O. which they wished the association to subsidise .€ for £. A similar proposition had been accepted by the Stratford Association, which had found it a payable line, and lis was suit- it would pay Hawera. It was not their object to increase the classes for Friesians to any extent, but to increase the prizes. It was very expensive, Mr. Johnson pointed out, to bring cattle from Palmerston North, and with a £2 prize there was not much inducement.

After a good deal of discussion it was decided on Ihe motion of Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Ford that Hie association grant a subsidy of 10s in the £, their liability not to exceed £l5O.
