STRATFORD SPRING SHOW.

LARGE NUMBER OF ENTRIES. The main entries, wliieli closed for the above show on Saturday, have been very satisfactory, and strong competition is assured in every class, but in order to give a fair chance to intending exhibitors who reside outside Taranaki the executive has decided to postpone the date of the tinal closing of entries until Thursday, November 18. Should the climatic conditions be favorable for the days on which the show is held, the success of the show is now assured, and the public can rely on seeing a display of stock and home and industrial exhibits equal to the best yet seen in, 'IV naki. The cummittee and executive liava spared neither labor nor expense in providing and catering for the pleasure and comfort of the exhibitors and visiting public. The new cattle pavilion is now completed and fitted up to house one hundred head of pedigree dairy cattle, the pig pens have been renovated, while the bull pens and horse boxes have also received the necessary attention to ensure protection and comfort for their occupants during the show. The sheep pens have been rebuilt in a position that will facilitate the yarding and judging of the stock, and also add'to the already pleasant aspect of the grounds.

Whereas the committee and executive have individually given much time and labor to the interests of the show, and have also assumed a heavy liability in order to provide grounds and accommodation which will be worthy of so important a district and town as Stratford, they therefore offer no apologies for directing our numerous readers and all stock-breeders' attention to the fact that funds are urgently required, and they trust that all members will send r.iu!;g their subscriptions and donations as early as possible, thereby siio-vira their appreciation of the work beino done to provide the general public with a couple of days pleasant recreation and also an opportunity to view some of the finest stock that have graced a showground in the Dominion.

Late entries will bo received up to and including Thursday, November IS.
