SENTENCES AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 13. In the Supreme Court, Sir Robert Stent sentenced William Brighting, wh< was charged with indecent assault on girl, to five years' imprisonment. Tht ■, accused was convicted of a similar of fence 17 years ago. Fredeeick Nelson Mayes, aged IS, and William Laurence Mcßae, an elderly man, were sentenced to two years' reformative detention for an unnatural offence. George William McDonald, a returned soldier drawing a permanent pension, who was found guilty of obtaining credit |*by fraud, was sentenced to on/ year's ' imprisonment and declared a habitual criminal. Harold Alexander Stewart, on ten counts of breaking and entering, wan sentenced to live years' reformative detention. Joseph Thompson, for breaking and entering, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment and was declared a habitual criminal. Leopold Simmon, for attempted theft of a suit ease at the Auckland railway station, was sentenced to two years' reformative treatment. William Victor Alley, for theft from a shop at Hikutaia, was sentenced to two years' reformative treatment, and Waikeria to throe years. Probation was imposed on Thos. Henry Barry for obscene exposure.
