WOMEN'S TRIBUTE.
» SEPARATE WAR MEMORIAL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 15, 12.20 a.m. London, Nov. 14. There Imp been a great and instantaneous, response to the Daily Telegraph's suggestion that the women of the Empire should contribute to their own memorial to the dead by means of a -shilling subscription. Mrs. Lloyd George supports any memorial having for its direct objceL the making of provision for the widows and orhpans of fallen heroes. The newspapers are of opinion that an ampls fund will be forthcoming for tlm purpose indicated. Besides a monument over the unknown warrior by a woman sculptor, it is announced an unknown sailor will b? buried beneath the projected naval memorial at Portsmouth, and it is expected the King will be chief mourner. —Aus.-N.Z.
