IS., ' The Pretoria Council of Defence hai decided to reintroduce the peace training interrupted by the war. It is hoped to reach full strength, 25,000 to 30,000, in four yours by voluntary training, and if not, recourse will be had to a ballot. H is also proposed to create a peri manent fojee of highly trained men, about 200 D of all ranks and arms, to be available as a striking force in case ol a disturbance wherein the police aw inadequate, and to act as the spearhead of the citizen force.-~Aus.-N.is, Cable Assn.
