SOLDIERS' HOSTEL BALL.
The committee is working very iiard towards making the ball, which take;place on Friday in the Coronation Hall, (me of the best of its kind ever held in New Plymouth, and as a result of its untiring efforts it is anticipated that a fairly large sum will be handed over to Mrs. Burgess for her soldiers' hostel. The Grand March, which is to take place sharp at 7 p.m., and the various fancy dances by the children, will be most spectacular. A very pretty feature will be the limelight effects, under Mr. J. Darling's care, and also the colored electric ardhes, which have been designed by Mr. T Petty. As the large hall is expected to be crowded patrons will be asked to kindly keep around the room as far aB possible arid not crowd into the centre, as it is.absolutely essential that the children shall have plenty of room for their fancy dances. The supper, which has mostly been donated, will bo another attractive feature, the large ladies' committee leaving no stone unturned towards making it so.
The music, which is to be supplied by the Citizens' Band, under Mr. McLeod, Mrs. George's Orchestra, and Miss Rita Sole, promises to be all that can be desired.
