Sugar.—Market unchanged. Wool.—At the sales there was keener competition for all sorts, and prices were distinctly firmer. Americans are operating for good crosabreds. "Awarua" made up to MK& and averaged 80% d; "Gore" 55d and «T4 The Bradford market Is very quiet owinc to difficulties as to combings. • Large quantities of Australian Army stores and equipment are being auctioned during the next fortnight. The sales in England have already yielded £IO,OOO.
The report of the Brltlgh Cellulose Inquiry Committee says that Government departments, which grunted concessions to the company, acted bona fide, tlieio being no fsvoMtUß or corruption, but the promoters had only thomselvea to thank for much of the criticisms, which were founded on the glaring contrast between the early and subsequent values at the shores.
