Y. , At the Supreme Court, before tffiV Chief Justice, Frank Akain, for forgerjl at Hastings, was admitted to probation} for eighteen months. . Two youths, Basil Henry Fleming and Cyrus Charles Hutton, appeared for sen* tencp for breaking, entering, and theft iih iPalnrereton North. Hutton, -who sty&. broken his probation, -was sentenced to) eighteen months' reformative treatment. Fleming was ordered to come up fo* sentence when called o'n. Isaac. George Ponsiea, an elderly, was sentenced to three years' reformat tlve treatment for an indecent ataaialtj on a little girl. Thomas Pollock, for the theft VF 4 bottle of whisky from a steamer, mm admitted to probation for eighteen) months. Thomas Ridout was co»yicted of f.natching bags containing money from ladies walking on Mount Victoria. Sen* tence was deferred. Joseph Mooney was convicted of" ttoel theft of £2O.
