THE PLIGHT OF GREECE.
COXDITIOXS DISASTROUS. . Rome, April 20. An Athens despatch to the Agcnzia Nazionale states tliat t'he situation of Greece become more tragic every day. Economic conditions are disastrous; the nation's finances are exhausted; the army is sadly lacking in necessary supplies, and discontent and discouragement are general. The general situation is reflected in the Chamber, where practically all the deputies are opposed to the Ministry, but dare not overthrow it for fear of complications. ' Greece, adds the despatch, is paying dearly for her neutrality, and there appears to be no possibility of remedy. Even if she ceased to be neutral Greece would be practically useless to the Entente IPowers, her army being completely demoralised.
