PUKEKURA PARK.

COLLECTION ON SATURDAY. Arrangements have been completed f or the collection on Saturday on belialf of the funds of the Pukekura Park Board. The toard has always depended largely upon voluntary subscriptions for tho improvement and upkeep of the Park, its fixed revenue being small and quite insufficient to meet the expenditure. During the coming year, in addition to the ordinary upkeep, the board desires to undertake three special ivorks—improvement of the sports ground, completion of the pond in the gully near the racecourse, and the instalment of electric light. The board's regular income will not cover the cost of ordinary upkeep, so that if these improvements are to he undertaken it must look to the public for assistance. Last year the collection was given up in favor of patriotic fund collections, but the board's necessities this year are such that an appeal must be made, or the expenditure cut doxvn very greatly. The public should respond generously to the appeal to-morrow.
