WAREA MATTERS.
To the Editor. Sir,—-Kindly grant me a lifctlo space to reply to your Warca correspondent's note in a recent issue. I cannot dispute much that your correspondent wrote, but 1 think it is only faiy to mention that out of the twenty-one present on Saturday night, two had offered their' services to the country and had been rejected, so yon see that leaves only nineteen. And, further, one of the others has expressed his intention ,7f sending in his name after the eows aro dry. Of course the cows were dry last winter, but other matters prevented him going then. Then, again, your correspondent states that only three have volunteered from Warea, but he omits to state that some from .\ewall road, Puniho and Pungarehu have gone, which, if we iannot. claim them as Warca boys, belong to Taranaki, which is precisely the same thing. With reward to the state of the hall I am quite willing to admit it is not what it aught to be, but I think steps will be taken to keep it better in the future. We are holding a meeting next Saturday night, and if we don't concoct a letter which will make your correspondent sit up I shall be very much mistaken.—l am, etc.. ONE OF THE BOYS,
