General Botha and Mr. Hertzog gent letters of apology. Mr. Grey declared that whatever mistakes Cecil Rhodes had made, his disinterested pursuit of noble aims and his strong spirit contemplated a time whin the United Kingdom and the Dominions would act as joint trustees with the United States for the expansion of Anglo-Saxon Celtic civilisation, and win the co-operation of the Teutonic race, to whom it was so cioselv related.
