EDUCATION COMMISSION
WAXGANUI SITTINGS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. At the Education Commission to-day, Mr. G. D. Braik, chief inspector of the Wanganui Education Board, made a statement on what he considered three vital problems, viz: (1) The co-ordina-tion of primary, secondary and technical education; (2) the promotion of teachers; and (3) the rates of payment of teachers. Miss Cruickshank. Principal of the Wanganui Girls' College, gave evidence regarding the relation between technical and secondary education, salaries, staffing and training, syllabus and examinations. Brother Basil, Principal of the Marist Bros. School, urged that assistance should be given to allow Catholic children to benefit by the secondary and technical education facilities afforded State school children. Evidence was also given by Mr. Trimble, chairman of the Taranaki Education Board, and Mr. Wm. Bruce, chairman of' the Wanganui School committee and Wanganui School Committees Association.
