Referring to the great kindness shown him in America, he took it as an expression tliat the feeling was greater than ever before which united the people of the United States with the people of Great Britain and the people of Canada. Australia and New Zealand. The reception given to the American fleet had left a permanent impression on the mind* of the people of the United States. "The cordial sentiments you cherish towards the people of the United States," he said, "are reciprocated."
