Lpng,'M.P., speaking at Bristol, urged the introduction of relentless opposition to the Parliament Bill, in order to secure as an alternative the reconstruction of the House of Lords, which should be brought into closer jonformity with the needs of the time. The Government proposed, he said, to paralyse the House of 'Lords in order arbitrarily to carry Home Rule. ,
' VETO BILL CONDESINED. A RED HERRING ASIENDMENT. Received 27, 11.30 p.m. London, February 27. Mr. Austen Chamberlain, in to-day's debate on the veto, moves an amendment in favor of reforming the House of Lords, while maintaining its independence, also condemning the Bill as conferring on a single Chamber all effective legislative authority without safeguard against the introduction of grave changes without the consent and contrary to the will of the people.
