Burrow, a New Zealander, and a married man, was killed by a fall of stone at the Golden Horseshoe mine. HOT WEATHER IN SYDNEY. Received 8, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, January 8. Yesterday was the hottest day for thirteen months. The temperature was 04 dcg. in the city, and during the afternoon it rose 13 deg. in 15 minutes. WESTERN LANDS COMMISSION. Received 8, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, January 8. Mr Moore, ex-Minister of Lands, has been appointed one of the members of the Western Lands Commission. Closer Settlement Boards will be dissolved, and a central board appointed for the whole of the State.
