TIMBER WORKERS WANTED
ACTIVITY IN VICTORIA. By Cable.—Press Association*—Copyright London, January 6. The Timber Trade Journal publishes a letter from Otoo Rcmeke and Co., stating that there is great scarcity of joiners in Victoria, Competent men command Is 4y 3 d per hour, and hundreds of first-class tradesmen are able to get constant employment. The Journal states that other trades are shorthanded, and condemns the Victorian Government for failing to make its requirements known. This is particularly surprising, it continues, in view of Canada's pushfulness.
