THE OFFICERS' CAMP

FINAL ARRANGEMENTS. > By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. . Lieutenant C. G. Powles, of Wellington, and Captain Melville, of Otago, have been selected to attend the instructional camp at Tauhcrenikau. Lieut. Powles is at present on the active- unattached list. He served with a contingent in South Africa, leafing New Zealand as sergeantmajor and returning a lieutenant, winning his promotion in the field. Lieut. O'Sulliviin (Blenheim), Sergeant Small (Timarti), and Corporal Webb (Christchurch) have been appointed non-com-missioned officer instructors, and will also go into camp at Tauherenikau. A squad of R.X.Z.A. went to Tauherenikau to-day to pitch camp. All the officers appointed have been instructed to be in camp by Saturday night, and practically all of them will be there oh the specified date. In one or two instances an extension of a few days has been granted. Major Hughes, Assistant Camp Commandant, leaves for Featherston to-mor-row morning. Captain Hamilton, A.D.C. to his Excellency the Governor, will act as camp adjutant. His Excellency has sanctioned the appointment. Officers are being notified that mess dress need not be taken to aamp, but that blue serge jackets will be worn at dinner.
