THE GOVERNMENT BONUS. The directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Company last night passed a resolution to notify the Government that it is their intention to put in a claimunder the terms of the amended oiler of a bonus for the production of crude petroleum—for £2,500, the first instalment of bonus, in respect of 230,000 gallons of oil from the bores at lloturoa. There were over fifty visitors at the bores 'on Wednesday, the "birthday" ol the flowing well. Nos. 2 and 3 bores are botli flowing oil, and drilling proceeds satisfactorily at No. a. Another batch of preference shares was allotted at last night's meeting of directors, making nearly 13,000 of these shares allotted to date.
