HINDUS IN SOUTH AFRICA
PUBLIC OPINION SATISFIED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, January 5. The Johannesburg correspondent of the Times, states that public opinion welcomes the Indian prohibition of indentured labor for Natal, where the news was received with equanimity outside the industries immediately concerned. The decision relieves the Prime Minister of the necessity for action which, though demanded by South African opinion, might have alienated some of the people of Natal whose support he hopes to secure.
