CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
A SHOCKING CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. DuiHHlin, Last Night. A shocking ease of cruelty to animals came before Mr. Porritt, S.M., at Naseby this week, when George Kerry was charged that, 'being the owner of efcrht dogs and one foal, he omitted to supply them with proper and sufficient food an'.l water between 14th May and .~>(h .lime. The evidence showed that ■between the dates mentioned Kerry was staying at an hotel near Xaseby, and was more'or less under the inlluence of liquor during the earlier part of his stay. He "lit several people to his camp, wh>re (he dogs were chained up, with fond and water for the animals, hut defendant could not satisfy the Court that during the latter portion the dogs had been fed at all. The foal was removed during the first Aveek. and four of the dogs were removed or broke Joose, ibut two of the remaining four died, and a third was very far «one. Defendant was lined £lO and costs."
