(From Our Own Correspondent). The usual fortnightly sitting of the S.M. Court vvaa held yesterday, before Mr. L. S. Reid, S.M. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the cases of C. N. Rowe v. James Johnson, claim £3l 18s Id, costs £3; George McKenzie v. Topena, claim £3 10s, costs 19s; J. Coles by v. Jordan and Co.,'claim £l7 6s sd, costs £2 0s 6d; George MeKenzie v. N. C. Bennett, claim £lO la, costs £1 10s fid; J. Jones v. Waitangi, claim £1 7s 3d, costs ss. J. Toon was fined 5s for riding a 'bicycle after sun* down without a light. Those who have occasion to do business at Court on the days when the S.M. sits, do not seem yet to realise the fact that 9 o'clock is the hour of sitting, tind not 10 o clock. It would be ever so much better if the later hour were ag&ii reverted to. The Ivy Assemblies' progressive euchre party took place last evening. The prizes were donated by Mr. W. Russell, of Auckland, a brother to Mr. J. G. Russell, who acts a? lion, secretary.
