WELLINGTON TAKING ACTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A meeting, attended 'by about forty persons, was held to-night to discuss tae Powelka sentence. It was unanimously resolved that a petition be circulated praying for the remission of a portion of Powelka's sentence, and that a public meeting ibe held at a future date to further the resolution. The meeting formed itself into a committee, with power to add to their number, in order to carry out these oibjects.
