SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast.—Freshening southerly wincta have spread over the country to-day, and a decided change has taken place in the weather, which Iras brought snow in the south on all the higher levels. Present indications are for high southerly winds and cold and stormy weather generally. Rain will probaibly be heavy in most parts of the country. The barometer is likely to rise very high in the next few days for a spell of fine weather to follow present conditions. Auckland, Last Night. The coldest temperature up to the present this year was recorded to-day at noon. The thermometer read 56 degrees. The next lowest was recorded on 18th May last, when the temperature was 57 degrees.
