THE N.Z. DEER AND By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Vienna, June 13. The Emperor visited the International Shooting and Sports Exhibition at Vienna. His first inquiry .at the British Section was respecting the chamois and deer he had presented to New Zealand. Mr. Faivholme, British Commissioner, gave him details, and stated that they had made great progress.

NEW ZEALAND'S EXHIBITION. The Hon. T. Mackenzie, Minister of Industries ■ and Commerce, received advice from tlie High Commissioner ia London some time ago to the effect that an exhibition of New Zealand product*, collected by the Austro-Hungarian Consul in Auckland, was held during March in the Commercial Museum at Triesie, ai)d the British Consul at Trieste, in a despatch, mentioned the following observations of the Trieste Piccolo Delia Sera in announcing t!he exhibitions in its columns: —"New Zealand, a country rich in natural products, is developing more and more a large trade in exports, and the consumption there of European industrial products is constantly increasing. Many English, American, German and French steamship lhes call regularly at the ports of those islands, and consequently enjoy an almost absolute monopoly of the trade of those regious. In New Zealand there also prospers a new colony of Dalmatian immigrants, the members of which live apart in camps north of Auckland and do not tend to mix with tihe rest of the population of the predominant British character. Amongst the important .products of those islands may be mentioned wool, meat, butter, skins, hides and other animal products, cereals, hemp, oleaginous nuts, timber, gums and tanning barks. | Importation, owing to the increased i prosperity of the population, is in constant augmentation."
