AMUSEMENTS.

THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS. TO-NIGHT AND TO-MORROW. | The greatest interest is being dis- ' played in the visit commencing to-night and continuing to-morrow night of the world-famous Comedy Costume Company from London, The Scarlet Troubadours. Their recent tour throughout Australia, extending over many months, was in every way marked with success, where from advices to hand they were greeted with packed houses', hi order to give an opportunity of seeing their performance to those persona who purchased tickets for the latter end of their Melbourne season arid were unable to gain admission on account of not coming early enough. The Troubadours appeal not only to those who appreciate good music as dispensed by members of the finest quartet party in the world, but also to those who enjoy refined humor anu harmless mirth. While every member of the company is a singer of such eminence as to have graced the London operatic stage in leading roles, all without exception are excellent actors and comedians; in fact, Mr. Edward Branscombe, celebrated entrepeneur and their organiser and director, personally collected them as much for their histrionic abilities as for their vucal powers. Consequently, musical scenes, operatic gems, quaint sketches, melodramatic burlesque, and eccentric drolleries are staged, costumed, sung • and acted in a manner that comes as : a revelation to those who see them 1 for the first time. The prices for admisison 1 are 3s, 2s and Is. After 1 p.m. to-day the plans will be on view in the Theatre Royal vestibule. The management advise patrons to apply for their seats early, as exceptionally large audiences are assured. An entirely new and complete change of programme will be presented each evening.
