DROWNING CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Associn! ! n~ Invercargill, Last Night. The captain of tlie oyster boat Ariel, a young Suede named Venner Johamison, was tarried overboard to-day I'V the oyster dredge falling back into Ilw wate r through tile lurch of the boat, and was drowned. The body has not been tound. PERILS OF THE RAILWAY SERVICE Invercargill, Last 'flight. A fatal accident occured at Invercamll railway station this morning. TvTaiam Taylor, a porter, who was acting as brakesman, was crushed between two trucks,, Death was instantaneous. Deceased was '2B years of age and had been about two years in the .service. He was a married man and leaves a- widow and children. THROWN FROM A HORSE. Wellington. Last Night. An accident which had a fatal termination occurred this afternoon at Lower pHutt. Richard Ray, aged twenty-two, iwas riding a horse at the back of the racecourse, when he was thrown. Ray, who received th? attetnion of Dr. Hee. tor as soon as aid could be called, lingered until eight o'clock this evening, ■when ho succumbed to his injuries from jl broken neck.
