SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS

A meeting of the School Commissionex was held on Wednesday. Pre.; no: -Messrs Wade, W. T. .M.P., and A. Morton. The secretary read a special report bv the Board's ranger on the small farm on the Kent road occupied by Mr. <:. M. Pott, also a letter from the lessen, who asked to be allowed to surrender his lease—lt was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Jennings and Morton, tliat the surrender be authorised and that other matters connected with the lease be referred to the Board's solicitors. Mr. Morton was asked to make any necessary arrangements as a temporary tenancy. The Board's solicitors reported that the small, severed portion of part 475 and section 608, Patea, had been veste 1 m the Commissioners, The secretary reported a further interview with Mr. Geo. Jennings with respect to the alleged flooding" of his leasehold at Douglas, also interviews with the chairman of the Stratford County Council on the same subject.— ■lt was resolved to take no further steps with regard to the complaint until the result of the work about to be done by Ike Stratford County Council was apparent. The treasurer reported a balance of £530 Os 2d. Consent to the following transfers was given, providing everything in connection with same was in order:—C. E. Major to Athol Grant, part section :i5. block 10. Xgaire S.D.. and John Cook to John Pa ton, part section ICSfI. etc , New Plymouth.
