Dunedin, Wednesday. The Education Board this mornin-» .passed a strong resolution dcprecatin** the action of the Department in eon° sistcritly ignoring them and excluding them from taking part in the Edition Conference. Mr. Mitchell dJfib.'d these conferences as nothing morPfean a cloak for the designs and fortifying of the Inspector-General in pursuit of errors. The question was seriouslv considered of inviting other boards to combine for a conference l of hoards, and it was desolved to forward the resolution for confirmation by other hoards, and to the Minister and members of Parliament. MATRICULATION PASSES. ~ SUCCESSFUL TARANAKI CANDIDATES.

Tn accordance with the recommendation of the Recess Committee, the University Senate to-dav added the names ■of 70 candidates to the previous list of 473 as having passed the matriculation examinations.
