TARATA. (From our Own Correspondent). The return match between Maketawa and Tarata took' place this afternoon, resulting in a victory for the visitors, though a very narrow one. The scores were, Makatawa 12, Tarata 11. If the local team had a chance of putting in an occasional practice, 1 am inclined to think a good team would be required to beat it.
The Tarata Rifle Club commenced a series of matches for a trophy' presented by C. Martin* The result of last Saturday's competition was as follows: 200 500 000 hep. Tl. J. Patersou 34 31 30 5 100 Jj.
