"TRUTH'S" TROUBLES
MOTION FOR A NEW TRIAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, Mr. Justice Denniston sat in Banco to hear a motion for a new trial in the case of Stringer v. Norton, in which on May 25,before Mr. Justice Denniston, the sum of £2OOO was awarded by the jury 10 T. W. Stringer, K.C., as damages for libel in John Norton's newspaper Truth. Norton appeared in person, and argued at great length. The further hearing was adjourned till to-morrow morning.
