Messrs Dimock and Co. reoeive pigs at the Inglcwood railway station to-day. The Egmont A. and annual show is to Be 'held at Hawera on 20th and 21st inst. This fixture is regarded as one of Taranaki's most popular outings. The sichedule list is a lengthy one, and ova- iIOOO will be given in prize money.
As many of tie those competing in the Sports Ground euchre tournament were unable to attend on Wednesday evening last those players who were present very generously decided not to play the fourth round ou that evening, but to let it stand over till the ensuing Wednesday, November Cth, in order to give those who had already missed one match a chance in the aggregate prize. We are sure this will be appreciated by the players in question, and it is anticipated that there will, be a muster on that date. The bridge-players being in full force, the fifth round of that section of the tournament was played out, leaving only the final (the sixth) to be played on Wednesday evening next. Although many players may have attended on five evenings—the number to qualify for the oil-painting—it is advisable that all should endeavor to attend the last match, so that an the event of their making a good score they count that in place of a previous small one. The arrangements which have hitherto answered so well with regard to supper and tickes will be observed again this week.
