' Received 1, 8 p.m. Sydnct, April 1. The Premier has received a cable from Sir Gordon Sprigg, ex-Premier, thanking the colony, on behalf of the loyal South Africans, for their military assistance, and expressing a hope that the people of New South Wales will adhere to Lord Salisbury's annexation palioy and do their utmost to prevent the sacrifices being in vain. Mr. Chamberlain has cabled thanking'the colonies for the expression of opinion with regard to a settlement of the question, which is perfectly in accord with the feelings at Home and in other parti of the Dominion.
