HAYWARD'S PICTURES.
In the second issue of "A Million Bid," to be shown at Hay ward's tojght for the last time, Anita Stewart has the star role, and is supported by an tunsually strong cast, which' includes Harry Morey, E. K. Lincoln, Julia I Swayne Gordon, and Gladden James. The story is one of great emotional j power, and works up to a breathless climax. It tells of an unscrupulous mother who desires to marry her daughter for wealth. To do this she intercepts letters, and succeeds in parting two genuine lovers. In due course, at her instigation, the daughter marries a millionaire, but insists that it must be a marriage in name only. On the honeymoon trip the yacht is wrecked, and the husband is thought to be drowned. Later the girl encounters her former love, and they marry. Their happiness is com- ! plete when a baby blesses their home. It jis then that the first husband, who had j been rescued, but who, owing to an injjury to the head, could not remember, [arrives. The dramatic intensity of the scenes which follow is very marked, and many breathless moments pass 'before the happy ending.
