ARMY WAREHOUSES DESTROYED.
EXPLOSION AT NEWPORT.

New York, Jan. 27. Seven army department warehouses and several munition docks were destroyed by a fire of mysterious origin at an Atlantic port. The storehouse was empty. The shipbuilding plant was saved. An explosion at the torpedo manufactory at Newport killed eight and injured seven.
