DENTAL WARD FOR NEW HOSPITAL.
(To the Editor of "The Colonist-)
Sir, —In connection with the discussion re above at to-day's conference, I wor:ld like to point out that some years ago the members of the, Nelson branch of the i^cw Zealand Dental Association made the following offer te the Hospital authorities:—As there are many persons unable to pay for dental services and whose health consequently suffers through being unable to get this most necessary attention, if a dental surgery with necessary appliances is proViiled by the Hospital authorities, each member of the association will provide: one hour per week, gratis, for wo.'.k theroat.
As there are five members in the Nelson branch this would.'provide free attendance for one hour per day for five days in the week say Monday to Friday inclusive.
I feel sure this offer still holds goo'L and would meet the object of those in favour of a dental ward, and do away with the necessity for a. paid dental sta.ff. Further, it would help to bring the Nelson Hospital into line with practically every other public hospital in the Dominion.
I ani, etc.,
W. W. SQUIRES Nelson. July 4th.
