Official.—The battle on the left continues with great violence, the opposing fronts extending to the regions of Lens and La Basse, prolonged by masses of cavalry in action as far as the Armentieres district.

There is nothing to Report between the Somme and the Meuse.

Lens is 9 miles north of Arras, and La Basse lies midway between Lens and Armentieres.
