Mr Byron Brown denies that he expressed willingness to abide by the voting of the lie-form delegates if Mr Field undertook to do likewise in connection with his candidature for the Otaki scat.

.Mr. J. C. Free, of Southbridge, has buen selected by a conference of Liberals to contest, the Ellesmerp seat.

Tt is definitely, announced that Mr H. L. Micheh will contest the Grey seat, Mr J. A."Murdoch (Mayor of Kumar a) the Westland constituency, and Mr. R. Bell (president of the lnangahua Farmers' Union) the Buller electorate,- all in the Reform interest, Mr. G. W. Russell, M.P., in a speech at Christchurch, said there was no doubt that attempts would be madeto divide the progressive forces by raising side issues like the Bible-in-sphools question and the Prohibition majority."
