EIGHT-HOUR DAY.
DEMONSTRATION AT SYDNEY
(Received Oct. 5, 9.30 p.m.)*
Sydney, Oct. 5
In spite of the Avar the Eight-Hour Day demonstration numerically and as an emblematic display, was equal to those of previous years. The procession included the Premier and many prominent members of Parliament. The Theatrical Employees' Union's emblem of the British bulldog pushing its way past a fierce German soldier at the gate barring the way to Berlin was much appreciated by the big crowd in- the streets. The sports drew a big attendance.
