The annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Union states that £200 was distributed last season to affiliated unions for the encouragement of Rugby in the primary schools. An invitation had been extended to the South. Africans to visit New Zealand, but this was not possible this year. The, rejsults of the All Blacks visit to America and of the Australians to New Zealand were also mentioned. The balance sheet shows a credit balance of £311, but against this must be set the expense of the New Zealand team to Australia in the current season. The following amounts are now on loan to affiliated unions: Hawke's Bay £845, Wanganui £500, Taranaki £225, Wellington £1050, Southland £2450 and Otago £950. Arrangements have been made to increase the Otago advance by £300 for ground improvements. The balance sheet shows that the accumulated fund on 31st March, 1914, was £10,335 6s lOd; the profit and loss account for the year shows that the | debit side amounted to £536 8s 3d, and the credit to £847 10s 3d (including Australian team's tour, £396 lls Id); leaving a balance (transferred to accumulated fund) of £311 2s. The North and South Island match showed a loss of £24 185... A balance of £396 lls Id will be transferred to the Profit and Loss Account.
The credit balances in connection with the Australian team's tour were as follows: Taranaki match £38 7s Id, Auckland match £118 17s 9d, South Canterbury match £38 6s lOd, Southland match £120 19s 9d, Marlborough match £18 6s 7d.
