HARBOUR BOARD LOAN.
The most important matter for the ratepayers is the proposal ofM*e Nelson fliirbour Board to borrow £35,000 for £iK-ther improvements to Nelson harbour io meet th* growing trade requirements of the district and a poll for authority to raise the loan will be taken to-day between the hours of 9 tern, and 6 p.m. Meetings have been held in various parts of the district, and the proposal fully explained by members of the Harbour Board forming the loan committee. HARBOUR BOARD ELECTION. Three members to represent the Waimea.' County Council on the Harbour (Board having retired by effluxion of time, an election will ibe held to-day. Sis candidates have offered themselves for election, viz., Messrs. Arthur I. 'Allport, W. N. Franklyn, P. Higgins, BE. S. Hoult, G. Macmahon, and Ivo. ITunnicliffe.
